Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Provider LeaseWeb Opens UK Sales Office
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider LeaseWeb has expanded into the United Kingdom market with the opening of a sales office in London. The company, whose services include dedicated servers, cloud hosting, virtual server solutions and collocation, and which has locations in the Netherlands, United States, and Germany, announced the move after establishing a new network London-based Point of Presence (PoP) and improved connectivity to the London Internet Exchange (LINX).

LeaseWeb’s London office is located very close to the Tech City media and technology hub, which is also known as Silicon Roundabout (as a result of the high number of web businesses located in the area). Dale Weedman, previously a co-founder of a free Internet Service Provider in the UK, has been appointed to LeaseWeb’s UK business development team. Mr. Weedman will be supported by Lawton Cheney, a five year business development veteran at LeaseWeb. The company is expecting to add more members to the team in the second quarter of 2013.

“The internet economy represents more than 8% of UK GDP and is growing faster than any other G-20 country,” explained LeaseWeb’s Team Manager Business Development, Emrah Aydin. “The UK is a market leader when it comes to e-commerce, online gaming and mobile computing, all of which are key target segments for LeaseWeb. In order to respond more quickly to the growing demand by our customers in the UK market, we felt that it was imperative for us to establish a local sales team as soon as possible.”
