Web Host 1&1 Internet Appoints Oliver Mauss to Replace Andreas Gauger as CEO

May 16, 2008 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web host 1&1 Internet (http://www.1and1.com) has appointed Mr. Oliver Mauss to replace Mr. Andreas Gauger, who has been the company's CEO for 13 years, it was reported yesterday. Mr. Mauss will be in charge of charge of 1&1's international web hosting operations and also oversee the company’s subsidiaries in UK, France and Spain.

Mr. Mauss brings a lot of experience to his new position. He worked for Vodafone Group for over 10 years where he was Global Director of Business Product Marketing. He has also held positions in product management and business development at telecommunication companies o.tel.o and RWE Telliance. He has a PhD in Communications Engineering from the University of Aachen, Germany.

During his time at 1&1, Mr. Gauger established the company as “one of the world's leading web hosts” catering for around 10 million hosted domain names and over 7 million customers. Founded in 1988, the company runs 47,000 servers in five data centers. The company's U.S. headquarters are located in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, USA.
