Web hosting provider 1&1 has added a range of new features to its MyWebsite instant website solution. The Slough, United Kingdom-based company, the UK branch of 1&1 Internet AG based in Germany, added the features to enable small businesses to produce websites with improved appearance and greater functionality. The move underscores 1&1's policy of helping small businesses achieve online success.
The new features sit alongside more than ‘drag and drop‘ 75 options that can easily add ecommerce, communication, social media, and business management functions to a business website. They include Video Maker, a tool which allows businesses to add audio-visual content to website pages. Businesses can produce online videos from up to 20 images, and the finished items can be placed alongside a soundtrack chosen from a wide selection of royalty-free music.
The new features also include a tool which enables businesses to add brochures to their websites. These brochures can be downloaded and printed when customers search for products and services. Brochures are produced by automatically merging images and text to create a 32 page PDF document which customers can also share using Twitter, Facebook and Google+ buttons provided by the system.
Another enhancement to MyWebsite is an Online Survey tool. Surveys enable businesses to generate customer feedback and research customer requirements. However, many companies do not gather customer data because adding surveys to sites is a time consuming process. MyWebsite's Online Survey tool generates online surveys that can be embedded directly into company website pages using a series of customizable templates. The tool generates survey results that can be viewed online or emailed to owners as Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF documents. MyWebsite is priced at £9.99 ($15.18) per month + VAT and is available through 1&1 customers' control panels.
