Web Hosting Provider AT&T Launches Application Acceleration Service

June 9, 2007
June 9, 2007 – (HOSTSEARCH.COM) – Web hosting provider AT&T has launched a managed application acceleration service, it was announced recently. The service is designed to enhance and optimize the performance of web-based applications, therefore optimizing Internet bandwidth for users. The company is utilizing an F5 Networks device (possibly WebAccelerator) that sits between the customer's web servers and their link to the Internet to facilitate the service.

This is the first time AT&T has offered a fully managed service for its enterprise web hosting customers. Over the last year, the company has made a number of enhancements to its web hosting, and in February announced a patent-pending visual monitoring tool developed by AT&T Labs. Monitoring software also allows customers to drill down to access more specific web hosting performance metrics and open trouble tickets.

The AT&T's Application Acceleration service adds to its portfolio of web hosting offerings. The service is available today to Enterprise Hosting customers in all of AT&T's Internet Data Centers (IDC). The carrier expects to have 38 IDCs throughout the world by the end of the year.
