Screwed up our site launch - Arvixe VPS
We launched our site, sent out PR, links etc, site went down on low traffic. Arvixe rebooted server. The next day, site went down again. A few days later, announced launch for 2nd time. Site down again. Launch ruined. Changing host.

Company Response: Mark, I'm sorry for your issues, however the VM is clearly overloaded based on usage and memory statistics. I would suggest a dedicated server for this type of PHP websites. Anything we can do to help, please let us know at qa [at] arvixe.com. Thank you!

Unable to establish a database connection
For months I have been complaining to the company about the error above and every single time they say they will take care of it yet nothing happens. I have complained over a dozen times.

Shared Hosting OK with good support and value
I was concerned that my webhost should allow me complete control. The Arvixe cPanel does exactly that...even after a rogue had deleted my site I was able to recover in a couple of hours.
Tech support responded to my panic very quickly.

Promotional VPS plans are not as good as non-prootioanl
i have been using Arvixe's VPS plans for more than a year. Their recent promotion on them for half price is not nearly as good as the old one. VERY slow and many downtime.

Also, the fact that only the main user can sftp is very annoying!!

It has been just a week now, can't believe how great their servers are for a shared hosting. I will check out the VPS given their best rate. Simple great. So far best sql server every that I've tried.
