Stay away from Arvixe
Support is relatively non-existent, and the email service is horrible. After 5 months and repeated queries to tech support, it still doesn't work right. Live chat is a joke because more times than not, I was disconnected after a long wait, and no answers.

Company Response: We are sorry for the issues you had. We do have a 24/7 support staff for email/chat/phones if one is unusable for you. We also encourage emails to qa [at] arvixe.com, if unsatisfied with the service, where the issue is handled with the utmost care.

Recently very bad support
I have a problem with connecting to mySql database. I can connect to Godaddy MySQL dB without any problem. I chatted with tech support twice, and were told it is my ISP issue twice, without any attempt to even understand. I was hung there 30 minutes.

Arvixe: decent but problematic
Arvixe provides decent basic hosting. The big problems are with its email. First, Squirrel Mail is awkward to use and navigate. Secondly, over the past year we've found ourselves unaccountably blacklisted four times, making it unreliable, if not useless.

Company Response: Hi, We are sorry you had issue with the web mail. Please note as it is a shared server blacklisting will happen with any host. We are constantly improving the service we recently implement functions to help with the e-mail.

SBLD IP
I am unable to send trans-actual e-mails to my customers. My Arvixe IP was SBL'd. I did nothing to cause the problem. The support was unfriendly and non responsive. I could not even get a time frame for when the issue would be fixed.

Company Response: We are sorry you felt support was unfriendly to you. As you are using ASP shared hosting, everyone shares one IP, everyone is affected by abuse. When this occurs we work as fast as we can to resolve the issue, it can take a bit for the IP to be cleared.

Lately Dropping the Ball
Recently they had a hardware failure. Normally this is not a problem, but they moved service to a new server with a DIFFERENT IP without telling anyone on their network page. Anyone who was doing their own DNS went down without knowing the new IP.

Company Response: Hi, Your server was being migrated which we e-mailed out notifications before this occurred. We also posted the notification on our forums while it was being migrated.

Generally Reliable & Sometimes Excellent Support
You need patience using the online chat (as I never have been successful on the 800#). Sometimes I get lucky and get someone who can solve issues quickly. Most other times I wind up raising the ticket level. Also, I have to pay extra for a private JVM.

Avoid Arvixe
I have been with arvixe for 2 years and now looking for another host. Suppoort is nominal, they have no clue. IT is from around the world withn less than entry level knowledge. Sites are down for days and nothing helps. Very bad.
